Wedding at Elvey Farm, Bride and Groom in the field

I can not believe that the year is almost over and that tomorrow we start a new decade, it only seems like a couple of years ago that we were all talking about the 2000 and a new century… On looking back over the last 10 years I can not believe how much has changed both personally and for the World.

At the beginning of 2000, we moved as a family to Stratford Ontario, Canada and never thought we would be back, but September 11, 2001 changed all that and whilst at the time I was deeply saddened to return to the UK, it has had some positive changes for all my family.

For one we have actually achieved more than we ever dreamed possible, I finally took the courage to start my own business in 2005 and three months later my husband followed suit and neither of us has looked back.

We have been able to travel far more than we ever were able to before and I have even photographed a wedding in Cuba and Canada, which was fantastic that someone likes what you do enough to fly you out to photograph their wedding.

I re-branded a few years ago and never looked back, I know have 5 photographers working for me, which is amazing when you think in my original business plan I did not see me being full time in the business until 2010! I actually achieved full time success some three years ago and would never want to work for anyone else again.

Next year is looking as if it will top the last two years in the way of bookings and success and the studio has meant that the portraits, lifestyle, boudoir, bumps and babies have all grown as the year has gone on.

I have some really exciting new ideas for 2010 and can’t wait to get out and try these out.
