Avril and Ant

It was at the Detling Show wedding fair that I first met Avril and Ant and they told me about their wedding that was to take place at Maidens Tower Leeds Castle that they were planning for May 2015. I will always remember how excited they both were to be planning their special day. They told me how the ceremony itself would take place at the church near to where Avril’s Mum lives and that they would then travel over to Leeds Castle for the reception.

The Day

On the day of the wedding I headed over to Avril’s Mum’s house where Avril and the girls were getting ready, Avril twin sister’s were two ofe her bridesmaids along with two friends and there was also two little flowergirls who arrived when they were ready.

My second photographer went to the Church to meet Ant and the boys, who had been getting ready at a local hotel, after all the formal photographs had been taken it was time to capture the guests as they arrived.

The Ceremony

The wedding coincided with voting day and as such Avril and her Dad in their vintage car took a detour to the local polling station so that they could vote!

The ceremony itself was a very special and meaningful ceremony for the two of them as they exchanged their vows surrounded by family and friends.

The Theme

The theme for the day was orange and hot pink and all the girls had either orange or hot pink umbrellas and as if on the schedule the heavens opened for a short spell giving Avril the opportunity to use her umbrella! The boys all have plastic watches in the same colours to match the theme.

For a short moment it looked like their would be no group photos at the church because of the rain, but fortunately it was soon over.

Maidens Tower at Leeds Castle

The reception took place in the Maidens Tower at Leeds Castle, which is ideally suited for the smaller intermient wedding such as Avril and Ant had decided to have, and the private walled garden where guests would mingle and chat over canapes and drinks had been decorated with a giant LOVE light that had been made specially for the day by Avrils Dad.

The colour theme was continued at Leeds Castle.

The Dress

A special mention has to go to Avril’s wedding dress, it was absolutely stunning and she looked totally beautiful in her Rosalinda dress by Ronald Joyce, the dress then was transformed further by her Mum who added loads of sparkle to give it even more WOW! This was topped off by a stunning Tiara from Ivory and Co and a beautiful bouquey made by Avril’s friend Elli at Elli Cawse Floral Design. The boys all looked fab in their hired suits from Lapel’s Mens Hire
