29th May 2010 ~ Chapel Down

I have known Neil since I brought my first BMW some 4 1/2 years ago, and whilst I always felt as though I knew Gemma because Neil had always spoke so fondly about her, It wasn’t until February 2009 that I first met Gemma at the Eastwell Manor wedding fair that Neil had sent her along to see me!!

Gemma and her bridesmaids all got ready at her Grand Mother’s house over looking the sea at Tankerton, it was a beautiful house build somewhere before 1763 and has loads of beautiful dark wood paneling, which made the perfect backdrop for the detail photographs of Gemma’s flowers, shoes and other accessories and Gemma ‘Ian Stuart” dress hung perfectly on the vintage wardrobe.

Emilie my second photographer meet Neil, the Best Man & Ushers at Chapel Down and was able to get a few photographs outside before the heavens opened! Unfortunately the rain did not hold off for the ceremony and before too long the staff at Chapel Down along with the best man and ushers were carrying chairs from the herb garden to the bar!! Where some shocked diner’s found their quiet Saturday afternoon lunch invaded by a wedding!!! It may not have been the original plan to get married in the bar at Chapel Down, but with the lovely detail wall it certainly made very interesting and striking background to the photographs. And the mad craziness of it all will mean they will never forget their wedding day and then having to exchange vows again in the herb garden with the witnesses just to ensure it was legal!!

We did manage to get a few photographs outside before the heavens opened once again, however I do love rain and I always think that umbrellas add to the photographs.
