After over 300 miles of never ending roads we finally made it to Four Corners, the place where yo can stand in Arizon, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico all at the same time!! As with everything in the US they did not miss the trick of an entry fee and a gift shop, and a toilet that will remain imprinted in my brain forever!!! Some 6 hours after leaving the Grand Canyon we were in Cortez, a lovely little town with a fantastic coffee shop where we had a very late lunch because we somehow thought we would find somewhere to eat en-route.

After a refuel of our stomach’s we headed up to Lake McPhee and cold see the snow capped Colorado mountains, we also met a few deer.

This evening we went for the most amazing meal at Joey’s Chop Steak House and meet a couple called Teresa & Gary Collipp who asked if we were hiding from the trick and treaters also? We said no and went on to explain about our trip and the search for where James’s and his brother’s George’s Mother was born and where their Grandfather is buried. It turns out that Teressa used to be Ted & Jane Turner’s Nanny and know Raton the Verjemo Ranch and gave us names etc of people to contact and then an hour later returned with maps of the ranch!! Wow what a small world.

Here are some more pictures from our day.
